Outfitters occupies approximately 15 miles of meandering river bottom
that includes oxbows and Sheyenne River breaks. This expansive pheasant
and whitetail deer habitat is located just five miles northwest of beautiful
Valley City, North Dakota.
Sheyenne Valley Outfitters is near three large reservoirs and several
small lakes full of yellow perch, walleyes, crappies, and northern
pike. Whitetail deer are magnificent and plentiful. North Dakota's
hundreds of thousands of ringneck pheasants and giant Canada geese are
waiting for you right here at Sheyenne Valley Outfitters.

Pheasants

the fields and in the fence lines along the roads. Pheasant hunts
begin the last weekend of August. Make your reservations early. The
daily pheasant limit is 5 birds (15 birds total), and you can arrange
for more.

especially during the peak migration in October and November.

North Dakota. The river flows quietly through the valley, providing
habitat for thousands of pheasants and other game birds. The ravines
are filled with wildlife and big game. Whitetail deer are abundant.

The
Sheyenne River Valley is a genuine paradise for those who come to
visit, and for those of us who have chosen to stay.
Two hundred years ago, the Lewis and Clark Expedition spent more time
in North Dakota than in any other state. They lived in North Dakota
during the winter of 1804-1805.
In his journal, dated April 29, 1805, Meriweather Lewis wrote,
"Game is ... very abundant (and) we can scarcely cast our eyes in
any direction without perceiving deer, elk, buffaloe or antelopes ...
Capt Clark walked on shore this evening, killed a deer, and saw several
of the bighorned animals ... We came too this evening in the mouth of a
little river ... It meanders through an extensive, fertile, and
beautifull valley as far as could be seen ..."
In his journal entry of June 5, 1805, Meriweather Lewis wrote,
"... we passed through the plains (and) found the plains as
yesterday, extremely level and beautiful, (with) great quantities of
buffaloe, some wolves, foxes and antelopes ..."
